Job Description/Duties:
During this phase the Electrical Field Engineer will be the interface between the commissioning manager and the Vendor personnel in charge of the commissioning and the electrical project team at Client Head Office.
He will make sure that the commissioning is executed according to the latest version of the available commissioning procedures and schematic diagrams.
He will attend all commissioning tests of the electrical and electronic equipment, including the loop checks and all functional checks.
In case of major functional problems (e.g. a functional logic that does not work as expected, or a defective component), he will report the problem to the Head Office and will cooperate to find a viable solution, taking into account all constrains including costs and time.
In case of minor problems during commissioning (e.g. a wrong wiring), the Electrical Field Engineer is expected to solve the problem on the spot, by modifying the relevant cable list, terminal strip diagram and schematic diagram.
He will keep track of all the modifications introduced during the commissioning by the called “red line copies” of the drawings, to be made available for the generation of the As Built version of the engineering documentation.
